The matcha green tea powder used to make the whipped honey butter is an extremely healthy choice. Matcha is a superfood that contains 137 times the amount of polyphenols that regular green tea does. These polyphenols protect against cancer.

Matcha green tea powder also contains caffeine, but it balances out perfectly with L-theanine, which is also in matcha green tea and creates calmness without making you drowsy. So, you get an energy boost because of the caffeine, yet you’ll still feel calm and not jittery.

Besides helping to prevent cancer and also making you alert yet relaxed, other benefits of matcha green tea powder include helping with weight loss and lowering blood pressure. When it comes to weight loss, matcha contains loads of EGCG, which burns stored fat as energy and also cuts down on new fat cells from forming inside your body. As for the lower blood pressure, consuming matcha has been proven to aid greatly in this, as well as decreasing risk of stroke.

Matcha tea powder is also good for your skin, focus and concentration, and immunity.

As you can see, matcha green tea powder is packed with healthy benefits. It can be used to make lots and lots of different recipes, giving each one a power punch of antioxidants.
