Pretty much everyone’s favorite childhood Kool-Aid flavor was tropical punch. There’s just something about a blast of tropical flavors that’s so refreshing and pleasant.

The spinach used in this recipe is fantastic for you. Among the many health benefits you get from consuming spinach, you’ll find that it lowers the risk of asthma development; it helps lower blood pressure due to its potassium; it helps with bone strength; it’s high in fiber; it helps keep your hair moisturized; and it’s high in vitamin C, which is crucial to healthy skin.
Like spinach, the matcha tea powder also helps lower blood pressure. Matcha powder is a powerfully effective superfood that has hundreds of health benefits—everything from beauty to reducing stress to helping prevent life-threatening diseases.
Matcha powder is a long-standing tradition of Japanese culture, and is the highest-quality powdered green tea available. It’s 10 times more effective than a cup of regular green tea, and matcha has 1,384 ORAC units of antioxidants. That’s more than almost any other food on the planet.
These antioxidants “hunt down and kill” free radicals in our bodies. These free radicals are nasty. They’re destructive to our cells, and may even be one of the biggest helpers to cancer cells. Free radicals not only attack healthy cells, but they’re a bad influence: They cause those healthy cells to attack other healthy cells, too. It’s a terrible cycle.
Once these free radicals attack healthy cells, the floodgate is opened to a number of health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, tissue and muscle degeneration, and lots more.
But remember, antioxidants stop these gross free radicals, and that can help prevent these diseases and health problems. And where can we find lots of antioxidants? In matcha green tea powder! That’s why this tropical punch green matcha smoothie is extra-special…not to mention outrageously yummy!
