Banana, cinnamon, matcha, cacao, and vanilla flavors come together in this powerhouse shake.
When you do something for yourself that’s healthy, it shouldn’t be a chore. Exercise should make you feel great, and should be something you get addicted to. When you eat or drink something incredibly good for you, it should taste amazing and make you excited to have it again.
That’s why we’re always so excited to pass on these great matcha recipes, and this one is no different. Behold, the matcha chocolate shake!
Besides tasting soooo good, this matcha chocolate shake is absolutely wonderful for you. The spinach gives you your daily greens, and both the matcha powder and raw cacao will provide you with clean, pure energy along with antioxidants, magnesium, and fiber. This recipe also uses natural sweeteners (Medjool dates and frozen bananas) that also add thickness for texture.
So yummy and satisfying, it could be a dessert—but this matcha chocolate shake works at any time to give you a huge energy boost and pick up your mood, since it contains L-theanine.
The L-theanine comes from the matcha green tea powder. L-theanine is a powerful little amino acid that has the ability to energize without draining you, and to calm without putting you to sleep. It basically smooths out—but doesn’t flatten out—your brain waves. The result is increased concentration, sharper focus, better memory, and an uplifted mood, not to mention the refreshed energy you’ll have. It’s like a much more chill caffeine high, but without the crash or edginess. It’s great!
Matcha tea powder is also good for you because it helps to protect your body from different health risks such as heart disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, stroke, and even certain types of cancer. It gets rid of heavy metals and chemical toxins, it boosts your immune system, it helps with your digestion, it improves your teeth and gums, and it even makes your body burn calories four times faster than normal.
So there you have it: this matcha chocolate shake is nothing but amazing. Give it a try!
