An “anytime” smoothie that combines creamy avocado, refreshing cucumber, and earthy, healthy matcha.
Although this smoothie can be enjoyed anytime, it makes for quite the morning-starter. Featuring the incredible flavors of creamy avocado, fresh cucumber, and matcha green tea powder, this low-carb detox smoothie will do wonders for you.
Sugar-, dairy-, and gluten-free, this recipe is also paleo-friendly. You’ll love how refreshing it is too! The three flavors really show each other off.
And then, of course, there are all the matcha green tea benefits. Matcha’s nutrients are extra-potent because the tea leaves aren’t steeped and then taken out as they are with regular teas. Instead, with matcha, the entire tea leaf is ground up into a fine powder that goes right into recipes. And, because matcha tea leaves are grown in the shade, it’s richer in chlorophyll than other green teas—making it a powerful detoxifier that gets rid of your body’s heavy metals and chemical toxins.
Besides this, matcha tea powder is extremely high in antioxidants—almost higher than any other food in the world, in fact!—and antioxidants have been linked to the prevention of heart problems, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and even HIV and some types of cancer.
Matcha powder also contributes to reduced blood pressure, blood sugar regulation, lowered cholesterol, and is a great source of fiber. It’s an immune system booster that also helps prevent tooth decay. The catechins in matcha powder also help fight free radicals (which age your skin), and these same catechins also help burn calories four times faster than your body usually does.
As you can see, that’s quite a basketful of health benefits! Your body will definitely thank you after this incredible cucumber matcha detox smoothie.
